The Board of Symantec Corp. (SYMC: Quote) Wednesday named Dan Schulman as chairman of the board. Schulman replaces Steve Bennett who will retain his position as president and chief executive officer.
“Separating the positions of chairman and CEO allows me to focus on executing the company’s strategic plan and managing the company’s operations and performance, ” said Schulman.
Schulman previously served as president of American Express’ Enterprise Growth group. Prior to that, he was president of Sprint’s PrePaid Group and CEO of Virgin Mobile USA, until its acquisition by Sprint.
